Termination Process

Notice Period

The notice period for an employee who has worked in a single company applies as follows:

Sick Days

Paternity Leave

Paternal Leave

Other Leave

Thus, for 2 children under 14 years of age, the employee will receive 3 days of leave. Likewise, for 3 or more children under 14 years of age, the leave is 6 days.
  • Similarly, parents of children with disabilities may take an additional day each month until the child turns 18. Likewise, the employer pays the leave based on the base salary earned
  • Study license. An employer may grant an employee 30-day study leave under the Adult Education Act. In the same way, the employee receives it according to the minimum wage in the 20 of said days.


Maternity Leave in Estonia

Female workers in Estonia are entitled to a 140-day leave beginning 70 days before childbirth and not less than 30 days. Likewise, the employer must pay it at 100% of the income and it is calculated based on the work done the previous year, with no upper limit. However, a mother who did not work in the last year but who worked before the birth of the child will receive 584 EUR per month.


In addition, social security contributions are those that finance the payment of 100% of the maternity leave.
