Only six countries—the Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Republic of Congo, Gabon, and Nigeria—allow entry without a visa. Termination Process

Employers have the right to fire employees when a fixed-term contract is up, when a specific job is complete, for misconduct, for monetary reasons, or for a justifiable reason.

Notice Period

An employee must provide a notice of termination, the length of which is determined by the minister responsible for labor and is depending on the employee's seniority and occupational group. The employee is often granted one day off each week throughout the notice period to look for work.

Severance Pay

Severance pay is often provided to workers who have been employed for at least 2 years; the amount is decided by the minister responsible for labor.

Up to six-month probationary periods are possible, and the contract must be in writing.

Paid Time Offs

For every month of employment, workers have the right to 1.5 days of yearly leave. Employees are entitled to an additional 2 days per month after 5 years of service. Employees who have accrued more than 12 vacation days may divide it into multiple portions, but each segment must equal 12 consecutive working days.


In principle, mothers who have children under the age of six are entitled to an additional two days of leave for each kid who resides with them, or one day if the total amount of accrued leave for the mother does not exceed 6 days.
