An expat must have a work permit in order to work in Bangladesh. Termination Process

There is a general rule that employees with at least a year of service are eligible or one month's notice or compensation in lieu of notice, as well as 30 days' salary for each additional year of service.

Notice Period

Severance Pay

For each year worked, employees who have operated for their employer for at least one year are entitled to 30 days' worth of severance pay.

Probation Period

For administrative staff, probation periods are typically six months long and three months long.

Paid Time Offs

Workers are usually eligible for 10 days of annual leave with pay after one year of service, though this varies by industry.

• For every 22 days of labor, tea plantation employees have the right to one day of paid yearly leave.
• Workers who work in factories, shops, industrial enterprises, and the road transport service sector are each eligible for one day of annual leave with pay for every 18 days served.
• For every 11 days of work, newspaper workers have the right to a day of annual leave.

Sick Days

Workers typically have 14 paid sick days per year available to them; however, this is a one-time benefit that cannot be rolled over from one year to the next.
